Chelsea are considering a surprise move for Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford with Blues co-owner Todd Boehly looking for a new goalkeeper.
Pickford will head to the World Cup in Qatar which kicked off on Sunday after a string of disappointing performances in an Everton shirt brought the England goalkeeper under fire from Goodison supporters.
Recent reports suggest that Edouard Mendy is considering his future in west London after losing the starting spot on the squad roster to Kepa Arrizabalaga since Graham Potter took over at the club.
According to a report from The Sun, it is claimed that Pickford is being considered by the Chelsea camp as an alternative to Brighton’s Spanish goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, who has been courting interest from Chelsea and Manchester United of late.
Sanchez remains Potter’s first name on the shopping list ahead of the January window, but Brighton are sure to demand a significant fee to give the 24-year-old the go-ahead for the 24-year-old’s departure from Amex following his stock hike those last weeks.
